Social Development reiterates dedication to enhancing SASSA services

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and determination to enhancing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) solutions through an engagement while using the agency's senior professionals in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.

Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled while in the 2024 matric examinations.

On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for your National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% of the registered pupils from the schooling sector.

These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.

"This means that the investment government is earning during the life of bad and susceptible youngsters is yielding a beneficial effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe reported.

Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She committed to urgently addressing The difficulty of long lasting Management appointments plus the lack of personnel at most nearby workplaces.

Additionally, the Minister has requested SASSA Acting CEO, Themba Matlou, to deliver a program that seeks to take care of the difficulties of payment channels in rural spots by furnishing an alternative Option for payments.
